Hello Gainesville Ocala Social Dancers,

We have reached an agreement to rent 308 West University Avenue for a new Gainesville Dance Association.

Our first two programs will be the weekend after this: Saturday, January 22 will be Tango Pavadita and Sunday, January 23 will be a class Salsa for Swing Dancers.

You can find our calendar on www.GainesvilleDance.com/DanceStudio.aspx

Tango Pavadita takes up the Tango lead with two Saturday night milongas and two Sunday afternoon practicas each month. If you want to look into Tango, come to the Sunday afternoon sessions, a perfect opportunity to learn.

Salsa for Swing Dancers is a one-time class to get you dancing Salsa well enough so you can do a few Salsa dances at Richard's social the following weekend.

The Gainesville Dance Association space is empty and in need of many items. If you would like to donate anything, let me know. Some of our needs are things like this:

- Sound Equipment, Speakers, Microphone

- Chairs, Tables, Table covers

- Lamps, Decorative Lighting, Safety Lighting, Long Power Cords

- Shelves, Storage Units, Desk, Clock

- Small Refrigerator, Water Pitchers

- Brooms, Mop, Cleaning Supplies, Vacuum

- Paper Towels, Cups, Toilet Paper

- Large Wall Mirrors

- Video Surveillance Camera

If anyone is interested in dance space or would like to help out contact me.

This Saturday night is a Contra Dance at the Boltin Center. The Contra Dances have been something special lately. No other dancing this Saturday, so come out for a great time. Anyone can do this their first time.

Sunday celebrate Josh Angel's birthday and get in some West Coast Swing at the Eagles Club.

Tuesday nights a small group meets for Tango at a private home near the Boltin Center. David Chayes, david.chayes@gmail.com, 352-328-7916

If you are looking for dancing early in the week, try Richard's East Coast Swing dance class. 40 people attended last week. Next month, he is doing Texas Two-Step.

Hustle! is coming in February.

South Florida Lindy Exchange is this weekend. www.soflex.org/2011

Arjay Centeno and Jen Deluca are in Jacksonville next weekend for a workshop.

Please join us for the final Tango de Encanto milonga.

One year ago the idea of Encanto was born, and for our team it was a new learning experience, hard work, and tremendous joy and fun. In the past year, we are proud to have had the privilege to host a bi-monthly milonga where the spirits were high and the atmosphere was friendly, tolerant and relaxing; we were able to invite and host renowned tango... teachers and workshops; we had many local and out-of-town talented DJs who shared with us their unique style and music; and we met new friends from all over the USA who were pleased to find a milonga in Gainesville with such great number of friendly faces and beautiful and good dancers.

We feel that we have achieved our goals and that it is now time for all of us to move on to our next adventure. So with hearts full with gratitude, our team would like to thank you all for supporting Tango de Encanto and sharing your enthusiasm and love for tango. We all should be proud of our consistent group efforts to serve, sustain and support our Gainesville tango community.

Please join us for our one-year anniversary and farewell milonga to greet and cheer each other and dance tango one more time to celebrate life, tango, friendships and much, much more.
