My wife and I took lessons from Maria Alvarez in around 1978 or 1979 - more than 30 years ago.
I greatly regret not continuing. We gave up partly because the only places to dance were bars and such where there were wall to wall people and the smoke was so thick you could cut it up into chunks.
I still have notes written by my late wife on ChaCha, Swing, Fox Trot, and Disco. We replaced dance with bowling, skiing, tennis and other activities.
I have gotten back into dance during the past 5 years and enjoy it greatly, lamenting the fact that I would be so much better now had I only continued. Whenever the chance comes up I try to encourage young people (especially my kids and grand kids) to 'get into dancing’.
Anyway, kudos to Maria for all the instruction over more than three decades!
Cheers to all, Nelson (aka Frank)
