A Day At The Lake

We had a nice group, about 16 people, dancing at B'nai Israel's Day at the Lake last Sunday. A lot of newcomers.

We danced outside, in a large covered pavilion. Really nice atmosphere. The whole day was great.

Kol HaKoved to Avital and Taal for such a good job.

Tuesday's class schedule

First let me say how wonderful it is to have Erin, Jonathan, Isaac and Ruth back with us. They are the founders of our group, and bring such great energy, knowledge and spirit.

For Thursday's class, we are settling into this schedule:

Thursdays Evenings (now)

6:45 - 7:15 Novice and beginner teaching
7:15 - 8:00 Beginners dancing
8:00 - 9:00 Intermediate dancing

Congregation B'nai Israel
3830 NW 16 Blvd

Avital

From 6:45 to 7:15, we will teach one of the dances from the Israeli 2.1 sets listed below. This teaching session is paced for beginner and intermediate dancers, who want to learn the 2.1 dances. Novices, get there for the 6:45 to 7:15 session, where you will get a private, separate introduction. Anyone who gets there before me, gets a CD with Israeli music. Remind me.

From 7:15 to 8, we do the two 1.1 sets, which are beginning dances, suitable for novices and up. We also do as much of the 1.2 sets as we can, which are beginner-intermediate dances, a little too much for novices. As we learn more dances, we will rotate dances in and out of the sets. We we also vary the sets based on who is there.

From 8 to 9 (or 10, as late as we stay), we do the circle sets from 2.1 and 2.2, and whatever partner dances we can learn.
