Saturday night you have your choice of a Ballroom Dance at Imperial Dance Studio or Tango Pavadita at 308 West.
Sunday evening at 308 West we have Slow Lindy Swing, with dance exercises from 6:30 to 7, Lindy from 7 to 8 and Hustle from 8 to 9. There are some July discounts. If you pay to attend any other program at 308 West during the prior week, you can attend our Sunday evening session for only $5. The more you dance, the more you save.
If you want to get a work out, join my Israeli Folk Dance session on Mondays at B'nai Israel from 7 to 8:30. It is free if you come to Lindy. Otherwise just $5.
Tuesday nights in July, Richard is holding Vintage Waltz classes at the Boltin Center.
West Coast Swing is now on Wednesday nights from 8 to 10 at 308 West, with Josh's WCS Dance Party on the third Wednesday and Essie's classes on the other Wednesday nights.
Thursday is Christian's Balboa class. This is now twice a month.
Coming up Saturday July 23 is the 3rd Annual Larry G. Shahboz Memorial Swing Dance to raise funds and awareness for blood cancer charities such as The Leukemia and Lymphomia Society and the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

Article: You Never Pull
A few months ago, I wrote about how a new dancer devolved
from a relaxed state to a nervous state.

When I first danced with her she was comfortable.
Later, when I get back to her again, her fingers were
instinctively grasping and she was off balance.
This is what happened to her after only an hour of
guys throwing her around and telling her what to do.
Last Sunday, Laura showed up late to Josh's West Coast Swing Dance.
When I started dancing with her she said, "You are pulling.
You never pull."
She was right. I had not noticed I was pulling, could hardly
tell I was doing it and could not stop.
This is what happens after three hours of West Coast Swing,
despite six years of training. The mind seeks to save itself.
