Jazz Jam: For those who are musically inclined, please join us for the Pre-Sip Jazz Jam starting at 6 pm.
No partner or experience needed.
Relax, have a drink, and dip your toes into swing dancing. We welcome beginners and experienced dancers, come share some time with friends.
While this event is free, please support the Bull who is generously hosting and providing a welcoming space for dancing.

Thursdays
Ongoing Thursdays, 7:30-10:30 pm. Gainesville Swing Dancing is proud to announce that we have secured a downtown Gainesville venue for our events.
Starting September 21st, every Thursday evening from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM, you can find us at the Rosa B Williams Center. We'll kick off the night with a one-hour beginner lesson, followed by two hours of social dancing in a beautiful, air-conditioned hardwood dance hall.
We cannot wait to hit the dance floor with all of you and look forward to seeing you at our new venue on September 21st.

This event will cost $5 to help support the club and bring you more swing dancing events in Gainesville. There will be a friendly beginner lesson will to help you get into the swing of things. You may come alone or with a group of friends. Coming with a dance partner is not necessary and no prior dance experience is required.

Sun 3 Nov 2019, 1:45-3:45 pm. The Lindy Hop bug can be quite the terror once you've been afflicted. Maybe it's your competitive nature that drives you to expand your skills past a one-hour beginner lesson. Perhaps it's your desire to form deeper friendships among one of the most compassionate, accepting communities in the world. Or maybe you just want to be able to better communicate your art on the dance floor with your partner and share your style with the most experienced dancers.
Join our Teaching Director, Zack Buchillon, as he shares his extensive experience in the form of a thoughtful, engaging lesson series. Zack has attended a large number of different workshops where he has learned from and engaged with many of the most renowned international Lindy Hop instructors of our time! We welcome you to explore with other students and dive into the rich culture and history of the dance we are lucky to partake in.

Fri 15 Nov 2019, 7-11 pm. As a substitute for GLX, we will be hosting a Friday night DJ battle at the Reitz Union Rion Ballroom! How is this battle different? The DJs will be playing off of vinyl records. We hope you will come join us for an epic (and friendly) battle between Dominic C. Howarth from The Cat's Meow in St. Pete and our own local DJ, Amye M. Francis.
If you have never danced before, there's no need to worry, our instructors Bryn Taylor and Chris Ortega will provide a beginner lesson right before the dance for those who want to come learn and join in the fun.
If you can not get enough dancing after the main dance, there is more. Join us for a late night dance in the Hippodrome Theater Basement afterwards: https://www.facebook.com/events/804935993258817/
Lessons will start at 7:00 and the dance will begin at 8:00.

Fri 15 Nov 2019, 11:30 pm-2 am. Friday, November 15, put on your dancing shoes and head to the Hipp for a night of swing and blues hosted by the Florida Swing Dancing Club.
All skill levels are welcome and no dance partner necessary. Dance the night away to some blues from 11:30 PM to 2 AM.

Fri 22 Nov 2019, 8:30-11:30 pm. Get excited. Florida Swing Dancing Club invites you to join us again Friday, November 22nd at the Reitz Union Dance Studios for some swing dancing. This event is only $5 and will help us bring more dancing events to Gainesville. You may come alone or with a group of friends. Coming with a dance partner is not necessary and no prior dance experience is required.
Lessons start at 8:30 pm and the social dance will start at 9:30 pm and end at 11:30 pm.
Dances studios are located on the lower level (LL) of the Reitz Student Union. If you are off campus you can park in the Reitz Union Parking Garage or surrounding lots, it's free after 4:30 pm. No parking decal required.
