Jazz Jam: For those who are musically inclined, please join us for the Pre-Sip Jazz Jam starting at 6 pm.
No partner or experience needed.
Relax, have a drink, and dip your toes into swing dancing. We welcome beginners and experienced dancers, come share some time with friends.

Thursdays
Ongoing Thursdays, 7:30-10:30 pm. Gainesville Swing Dancing is proud to announce that we have secured a downtown Gainesville venue for our events.
Starting September 21st, every Thursday evening from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM, you can find us at the Rosa B Williams Center. We'll kick off the night with a one-hour beginner lesson, followed by two hours of social dancing in a beautiful, air-conditioned hardwood dance hall.
We cannot wait to hit the dance floor with all of you and look forward to seeing you at our new venue on September 21st.

Wed 11 Aug 2021, 6-7 pm. Develop the skills and confidence to dance to swing music (such as lindy hop and charleston) with your own flair! This session is an introduction to some basic moves and ideas in solo jazz dancing. Learning to dance solo will help you express yourself individually, while jamming with others, and in partner dancing! And not just on the dance floor... anywhere you hear swing music! ??
I hope it will inspire you to continue on a beautiful and fun journey of creativity!

Sat 14 Aug 2021, 7-10 pm. Come out and swing dance in the streets outside The Bull downtown!
The dancing is free, but please support the event by buying drinks at The Bull if you can.
Are you new to swing dancing? Need a refresher after all this time away? We've got you covered! There will be a beginner's level class at 7pm, followed by a social dance with plenty of jazz to swing to! Dance with your friends or with everyone, whatever you are comfortable with. We love partnering up with new dancers, so don't be afraid to ask for a dance!
If you don't feel comfortable partner dancing, you can do some solo jazz. We will have someone to teach you a few moves.
Masks? Please follow CDC guidelines.

Fri 20 Aug 2021, 7-9 pm. Let's support local jazz! The Jazz Bandits are playing at Cypress and Grove.
Cypress & Grove Brewing Co. hosts live musicians every Friday evening from 7pm-9pm. The lawn is large, and open to social distancing. In case of rain, the music is played indoors, and tables are separated for social distancing.
