Dance Classes

Let Us Know of the Types of Dancing in Which You Are Interested

You can take a wide variety of dance classes. There are both group lessons, semi-private and private sessions available.

Much, but not all local dance classes are published online. If you do not see what you are looking for, contact us to see if that dance is being offered somewhere nearby. Let us know if you are interested in a particular dance class and we may schedule one in the future when there is enough interest.

New Dancers

The beginning dance classes are designed for new dancers, that is for people who have never danced before. These classes are specifically designed to get people comfortable dancing. No experience, no rhythm, no confidence and no partner is needed. These classes will set you on the path to aquire all of those.

Social Dancing Means Having Fun in Non-Judgmental Dance Sessions

These are social dance sessions, with the focus on having fun. These are non-judgmental sessions. Everyone goes at their own pace. No one tells anyone else what to do. Learning how to get along with everyone else so that everyone is comfortable is the most important thing you learn.

Safety First No Pushing and Pulling

There is no pushing and pulling in these dance sessions. Safety first. You learn how to dance without hurting yourself or anyone else. You learn how to communicate with your dance partner via signals, without the use of force. Everyone does their own dancing. Everyone moves their own body parts. Everyone does whatever they are capable of without having to worry that their partner is going to make them do something that they cannot do.

Couples Friendly Dance Sessions

If you come as a couple and just want to dance with each other, you are welcome to do so.

Singles Friendly Dance Sessions

You do not need a partner. Everyone dances with everyone else.

We Rotate Partners, But Rotating Is Not Required

Unless otherwise noted, no partner and no experience is needed. We rotate partners, so everyone gets to dance the same amount. If you come with a partner and do not want to change partners, you do not have to rotate. The teacher is in the rotation, so if you rotate, you get to dance with the teacher and get a mini-private lesson during your turn. This is the best way to improve, with personal feedback.

Harmony Dancing Method

You learn how to dance with others using Andrew Weitzen's Harmony Dancing Method.

You learn the safest, gentlest and most comfortable method of dancing with others, since there is no use of force. You learn how to dance without any pushing and pulling. You get to do your own dancing without anyone moving you about.

You learn the etiquette of social dancing in a respectful, non-judgmental atmosphere, so you and everyone else can have fun dancing with everyone else regardless of your experience.

You learn the only complete, logical system of communicating with a dance partner. You learn how to lead and follow every step in every dance in the same way with every person using just three signals, by following the three simple laws of Harmony Dancing. You only need to learn how to communicate once and you can communicate in the same way with every person in every social dance.
