An hour of free Nia, for everybody, at all fitness levels.
Thanks so much to all of you who participated in the community Nia class earlier this month. It was so good to see many familiar smiley faces and get to know many new participants. I hope you enjoyed that morning as much as I did.
We will have another opportunity to celebrate. No previous experience needed, just wear something comfortable, get a bottle of water, and come to have fun. Kids are welcome.
As you may know, the Gainesville downtown Bo Diddley Plaza has reopened after a year long, $2 MM, renovation. The plaza now is safer, more attractive than ever, with a cool new water wall, indoor-outdoor cafe space, and more. As a Gainesville Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) staff member, I have had the honor to follow the renovations closely, and I am thrilled to also have the opportunity to bring Nia to the plaza and share it with the larger community.
This is going to be lots of fun, great music, and delicious movement, nutritious for your body and soul.
Nia is a fun, creative way to get fit, relieve stress an self-heal. Practiced barefoot to a variety of music styles, Nia blends form and freedom, drawing from disciplines of dance, martial arts, and mindfulness.
Step into your own joyful journey with Nia; positively shape the way you feel, look, think and live. Every experience can be adapted to individual needs an abilities. Every body is welcome.
