Argentine Tango Workshops and Milonga El Abrazo with Jorge and Anabel

These very popular teachers are back in Gainesville for their 3rd consecutive year prior to touring Florida and then Europe. Private lessons will be available and encouraged. Call/message Thuy to schedule privates.

These friendly, approachable teachers are known for their unique way of explaining, demonstrating and drilling classic and advanced ways of elegant posture, embrace, walking, and musicality, in new and simple ways such that the average person can more easily understand how it feels in their own body and put into their own dance right away.

We will also have Sandra Angel here with her Mussa Collection Tango Shoes and Clothes from Orlando, so take advantage of her while she is here April 6/7.

Workshops: $25.00 ea. $45-two, $90-four
Pre-milonga class $10.00
Milonga: $15.00 (Students $7.00)
Full W/E Pass: $40 for W/E 6/7; W/E 13/14: $110, $130 for both W/E's at the Rosa B.
W/E 20/21 full pass $50 at Thuy's house (1 class + milonga Saturday night, 2 workshops Sunday afternoon.)
FULL Three Week Pass Super Deal: $165.

1 HR/Private Lesson with both teachers $100/hr.

Rhythmic - Musical interpretation, decade of 40' Dancing a sequence of dance floor, Salida del 40', we will know metric the rhythm and melody, achieving a corporal expression.

10:30 PM: Special Exhibition by Jorge & Anabel

W/S 1) Giros Structure. - Fundamental elements. - Change in front for social dance.

3:30 PM - 4:45 PM
W/S 2) Crosses for dance floor. - Changing the weight of the body we will work the crossed lines. - How to cross the feet without changing the position of our partner.

W/S 3) Change of Roles. It is instructive for each partner to understand the dance from the other's point of view. - Knowing more the role of my partner I will improve my dance - Dynamics for both roles.

3:30 PM - 4:45 PM
W/S 4) Sacadas in open embrace. - From the basic steps we will get the concept of sacadas. - How to use it in circular spaces.
APRIL 20/21 Class + Potluck Milonga at Thuy's house

Saturday night 7:30 PM ,
Pre-Milonga Class:
Learning a traditional and classical tango step. The "Mordida" Meaning - Importance of the impulse from the Leader. - How to connect with other steps.
8:30 PM - Midnight: Thuy's Milonga with Jorge & Anabel

Sunday at Thuy's house:

2:00 PM - 3:15 PM
W/S 1) Rebounds in simple and double time.
- Our axes as a fixed and movable reference line. - Change of fronts and lines in dance room

3:30 PM - 4:45 PM
W/S 2) Milonga con traspié
- How to lean on a rhythmic pattern. - Triggers to get cadence and style of the step

Do not miss it.

Parking for the Rosa B in the lot across the street is OK, just get a parking pass from the front desk for your car, or park on the street.

Anyone who can come 30 minutes early (6:30) or stay late (12:30) to help set up and break down is appreciated if you can.

There will be food by Stevito. Feel free to bring your own dish and wine to share as well.

On the West side of the street next to the Police Sub-Station. Easy parking, good lighting.
