Remembrance of Nitin C. Jayaswal

Sun 27 Aug, 4-8 pm. The Wooly, 20 N Main Street, Gainesville, 32601. Dances of Universal Peace - Gainesville - [events]

Many dancers were friends of Nitin, which is why this is included in the event listing. Following was from the Gainesville Sun.

Nitin C. Jayaswal, 57, passed away from natural causes on August 1, 2023 at his home in Gainesville, Florida. Born in Gainesville on February 13, 1966. ... His amazing circle of friends throughout Gainesville, Jacksonville and beyond, are simply too numerous to count.

To say Nitin’s death was both unexpected and shocking is an understatement. How does someone so full of life, so adventurous, so kind and funny, and so dear to countless individuals, leave us all here to eternally miss him with only aching hearts and precious memories.

Nitin attended Wolfson High School and went on to the University of Florida where he collegiately pursued his passion of art and design that sustained his career throughout his adult life. Many of us were somehow inspired by a piece of art or furniture or original, quirky element that we were fortunate enough to experience though Nitin’s incredible mind for design and execution. Nitin also had a unique relationship with nature and the environment, and his simplistic, minimalist design perspective guided his life and work. For a glimpse of Nitin’s daily discoveries, as he blazed different trails throughout Paynes Prairie, visit njadstudio on Instagram and take a walk with him. Turn up the volume and smile.

Nitin positively impacted everyone with his unique gift of laughter and love, his devotion to his family and friends, and his ability to bring a ray of light into any room he entered. And so the next time that you hear a 70’s song, catch a fish, enjoy a cocktail or admire a work of art, think of Nitin and remember him with fondness. So many loved him and will miss him always. A celebration of his life will be held in Gainesville in late August.
