This is beginner-friendly and focused on connection, balance, and communication between partners not memorizing figures.
These drills will strengthen your leading and following skills and improve connection for all partner dances, not just tango.

With high group participation and partner switching in the middle of the dance, we highly encourage our students to start with Casino. We also offer a student performance team in this style of salsa!
Casino classes are at 6:15 every Monday, and at 7:30 every Wednesday after Variety Hour. We also have advanced Casino classes on Thursdays after our rotating Latin Series.
On 1 style salsa, also known as LA salsa, is a popular style of salsa dancing that originated in Los Angeles, California. It is characterized by its linear style, meaning dancers move along a line, back and forth, as opposed to the circular motion seen in other salsa styles like Casino. Our advanced performance team dances this style.
On 1 classes are at 7:30 every Monday after Casino Salsa. We also have advanced On 1 classes rotating in our Latin Series.

Swing into the Spirit of Valentine’s Day at Santa Fe College. Put on your dancing shoes and enjoy a night filled with laughter and dancing at Santa Fe College. The semi-formal event will include light refreshments and free swing dance instruction.

From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., experienced instructors will teach the basics of swing dance. Beginning at 7:30 p.m., SF Associate Professor of Music and Band Director David L. The band will perform popular jazz tunes and arrangements from some of the most important big band leaders from that era including Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Benny Goodman.
