Nia Holistic Movement with Sarit

Ongoing Wednesdays, 12-1 pm. Join Sarit for weekly outdoor Nia classes at the Thomas Center Gardens. Nia is a low-impact movement technique, inspired by dance, martial arts, and mindfulness practices. Nia is easily adaptable to all levels of fitness and experience. Nia creates a playful and powerful experience, boosting pleasure, strength, mobility, stability, and overall well-being. Small group classes are facilitated in a relaxed, welcoming, and non-judgmental atmosphere. SloMo Movement and Meditation: Slow Flow to Stillness with Sarit

Thu 1 May 2025, 11:30 am-12:30 pm. SloMo Movement & Meditation offers a meditative slow movement flow, similar in pace to Tai Chi and Qigong, infused with the creativity, personalization, and movement language of Nia. Simple yet powerful, this practice helps calm the body and mind while developing patience, mobility, strength, and balance. Pause, connect, and let your breath and the natural surroundings guide you into stillness. This gentle flow, inspired by Tai Chi, yoga, Nia, and meditation, concludes with a seated meditation to ease you into the weekend with a sense of calm and clarity. We'll gather at the Thomas Center Gardens, by the main water fountain. Bring a yoga mat and, if you have one, and a meditation cushion or folding chair. All are welcome, no prior experience needed. UF Mindfulness 10 Year Anniversary Mindfulness Retreat with Sarit

Tickets https://www.eventbrite.com/e/uf-mindfulness-10-year-anniversary-retreat-tickets-1214981956739 Join us for a day-long mindfulness retreat to celebrate 10 years of UF Mindfulness and nurture clarity, compassion, and grounded presence from within. The retreat will offer a variety of mindfulness practice sessions along with time to connect, celebrate, and enjoy the natural beauty of northwest Alachua County, Florida in a private retreat space that is about a 30-minute drive from the UF campus. Address for the retreat will be shared upon registration. The UF Mindfulness Program is self-funded, and the leadership team and members of UF Mindfulness volunteer their time to offer the program to the UF community and Gainesville as a whole.
