You will have the option of rotating between partners or staying with your partner for the entire class. If you are rotating, you are not required (but are encouraged) to bring a partner with you.
Every Thursday, the classes will be followed by a "Bachata Boulevard" social dancing event, to practice your moves and socialize with the members.

As the name suggests, this night will be mostly bachata, with a splash of salsa and kizomba.

Fri 4 Mar, 7-8 pm. I am excited about teaching belly dance again. This is a technique-oriented class that will be basic enough for all levels to get something out of it. Targeting balance, technique, sharpening hip movements, introducing new movements and combinations, working on posture. Including a short choreography on each class and adding improvisation as practice for fluidity and individual creativity purposes.

Hi there! My name is Chris Ortega. When I went to my first swing dance 3+ years ago here in Gainesville, I instantly fell in love with Lindy Hop and swing dancing, and I want to share this awesome dance style with you!!

Late Night Dance at Salsa Mundial
Sweet Swingouts is back again, this time in a bite-sized package.
Professional dance instructors Andrea and Forrest Phoenix will be guiding us through four hours of Lindy Hop swing dance instruction from 12 PM - 4 PM in the beautiful Rion Ballroom of the Reitz Student Union on UF's campus.
In the evening, we will be hosting the main social dance in the same location. At 7 PM, the beginner Lindy Hop lesson begins. At 8 PM, a live band will jump with us through the night.
We will finish off the evening with a Late Night dance at cozy Salsa Mundial with three hours of DJ'd music from some of the best swing deejays in Florida.
To attend this event, you must provide either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test taken within 48 hours of the event. Masks will also be required to participate in lessons and dances.

Targeting balance, technique, sharpening hip movements, introducing new movements and combinations, working on posture. Nia is a holistic fitness technique inspired by dance, martial arts, and mindfulness. Nia promotes physical wellness, mental clarity, and emotional balance and joy. Beginners are welcome. Moves can be easily adapted to all levels of fitness and experience.

Nia Gainesville is a community-based activity, led by Sarit Sela. Classes are held outdoors at no charge, with an invitation to pay it forward by donating to local organizations.

While there will be no formal level testing, the difficulty of the Upper Level lessons will be set with this minimum requirement in mind.
